CODE OF CONDUCT

 

The Association of Entrepreneurs and Vocational Studies Practitioners of Nigeria (AEVSPN) is committed to cultivating a culture of discipline, responsibility, innovation, and ethical excellence. The following Code of Conduct outlines the values, duties, and behaviors expected from all members—students, professionals, educators, and corporate affiliates.


1. Professional Integrity & Accountability

Members must demonstrate the highest standards of honesty, transparency, and accountability in all professional dealings—whether in private practice, business leadership, public service, or training roles.

Fraud, deceit, plagiarism, or misrepresentation in any form is strictly prohibited.
All members are expected to accept responsibility for their actions and decisions, especially where those actions affect clients, colleagues, or society.


2. Ethical Use of Resources

Members must efficiently utilize both human and material resources, minimizing waste and maximizing value. This applies to:

Employers and employees in public or private settings
Entrepreneurs and practitioners managing their own enterprises
Trainers and educators influencing future professionals


3. Commitment to Self-Development and Lifelong Learning

Members shall commit to continuous personal and professional development, including:

Participating in AEVSPN training, seminars, and workshops
Updating vocational skills and adapting to new technologies
Seeking knowledge that enhances innovation and job creation


4. Loyalty and Confidentiality

Members must maintain a high level of loyalty to the Association, clients, employers, and institutions. They must:

Keep sensitive information confidential
Avoid conflicts of interest or undue personal gain
Safeguard the intellectual property and trust placed in them


5. Service to Nation and Society

AEVSPN members are expected to offer selfless service to:

The business community
The Federal Republic of Nigeria
The Commonwealth
The United Nations and other global development platforms

Members must actively contribute to national development through entrepreneurship, skills empowerment, innovation, and job creation.


6. Professional Conduct and Respect

All members are expected to:

Treat clients, colleagues, and stakeholders with respect and fairness
Avoid discrimination, harassment, or misconduct of any kind
Uphold a professional appearance and behavior in all public engagements


7. Economic Problem-Solving through Innovation

AEVSPN professionals must apply entrepreneurial and vocational knowledge to:

Solve real-world economic challenges
Foster self-reliance, especially among youth and women
Promote sustainable business practices and community resilience


8. Compliance with Laws and Regulations

Members must observe and comply with:

The constitution and policies of AEVSPN
All applicable local and international laws
Professional standards and expectations set by allied regulatory bodies


9. Collaboration and Knowledge Sharing

Members are encouraged to collaborate for the collective advancement of the profession by:

Sharing expertise with younger members
Participating in peer reviews, panels, and public forums
Contributing to research, innovation, and publications


10. Disciplinary Expectations

Any breach of this Code may lead to:

Formal warning or reprimand
Suspension or revocation of membership
Loss of titles or credentials if misconduct is confirmed

All members must accept the disciplinary processes of the Association as final and binding.
